Mostly everyone has gone through some sort of bullying in their lives. Whether it’s physical bullying, cyber bullying, or any other type of bullying. They are all equally as bad. It’s a very difficult topic for a lot of people, mainly because it might bring back memories of the past and difficult times. This was my bullying experience in fourth grade.

In fourth grade whenever I walked past by a group of people I could hear them laugh and whisper about me. The eternal rush of loneliness shoots up my body realizing I had no friends. The embarrassing feeling I got when I was the last person to be chosen on someone’s team. Everyone would make fun of my race and tell me offensive racist jokes to lower my self esteem. Getting told rude comments about my body didn’t help my self esteem either. Whenever I tried to make friends everyone would ignore me or simply leave to another table.

It’s surprising looking back and knowing I was nine yet I got bullied for being “fat” or above average. I don’t think anyone should be treated the way I got treated. Why would anyone want to cause mental and physical pain to someone? I will never understand why. I got bullied for being asian, constantly getting asked If i could see, was I good in math, do I eat rice everyday, and etc. Bullying someone of their race has me lost for words.
Few years later….

I fixed my eating habits, portion by portion. I exercised for a few each day. I started to believe in myself and love myself. Everyday I keep growing and changing. At the end of the day we are all equal no matter what size, race, religion you are. The world; society has helped me shape my dreams and aspirations in life. My confidence increases everyday and it’s going to keep increasing. I want to thank the people that brought me down and had no hope in me, for turning me to someone that I am today.

In conclusion, bullying is something that happens everyday. Some kids that go to school everyday constantly getting physically or mentally abused don’t tell an adult or anyone about it. It’s hard to deal with negativity at a young age because you don’t know how to react to it. More people need to spread peace, not just in schools. After all we only live once and who wants to live in a world where people are judgemental and like to put down others. That was my experience and how I overcame the negativity I had in my childhood.
