I come from a city called Ventura. I was born in Camarillo, but that was an accident. I’ve lived in Ventura my whole life and sometimes it gets boring waking up seeing the same things and doing the same routine.
I am currently attending a school called Foothill Technology, although it wasn't my decision- it’s turning out to be an OK school. Math is a subject I just don't understand. My mother always told me it was genetic because her and her whole family also struggled.
All through middle school I’ve either gotten D’s or low C’s in math. I’ve always blamed my mom or even the teacher on the way she teaches. All my teachers have told me I can do better if I just believed in myself more, but that didn't help very much in my self confidence. In my eighth grade school year I started not to care. I never did my homework, I began to give up. Since eighth grade I’ve been realizing that some things we learn will never be used in my adulthood, so I decided to slack off .
As time flew by I started to get mad at myself for having that grade in Math. My grade went from a C- to a A- in a minimum of two weeks. My confidence went from a zero to a ten instantly. My homework was done everyday and my test scores were 90% or higher. I changed who I was with so much confidence and energy boost.
