I was born on 2001 in a city called Ventura. When I was two years old, my family moved to Bakersfield,CA. Bakersfield is where I got most of my education. When I was in sixth grade I started to make an improvement with my grades. The improvement came to a halt when I moved back to Ventura because my dad got a job there. When we arrive in Ventura two years ago, my family had struggles looking for a home. So we stayed in a motel for two months until we found an apartment. Then, in seventh grade my mom put me in a middle school show choir created by Heidi House. As I showed up to practice three times a week, I found out that I was more than a history geek. I got to perform in Heidi’s Christmas concert and I felt proud of myself. The middle school choir did shows at VUSD’s Summerfest and at the Poinsettia Pavilion.

In eighth grade, I returned to the middle school choir and things got weird. For example, last year there were 25 students and in eighth grade there was 15 students with only 2 boys, me and my friend who goes to Cabrillo. As my eighth grade year neared to an end, I got accepted to Foothill Technology High School and I got accepted into Heidi’s high school choir. As I entered my first year of high school, I got to perform in the christmas show again, but with the high schoolers this time. As I look forward to my next three years of high school, I hope show choir is never taken away from my life.
