I was born in April of 2000 in Ventura, California and raised most of my life. Where I grew up is roughly 5 to 15 miles north of Ventura. My life is about my academics and athletics over the years and the small town I grew up in. Oak View and Ojai is small town, with the population combined there are 12,000 people there. Oak View isn’t a really big town mostly everyone knows each other and kids ride their bikes to each other’s places. Oak View became a bedroom community in the early 1950’s for the workers in Ventura’s oil industry. Later the community became larger and was a town. The town has everything you need to survive like a super market, restaurants, and other things. Ojai is also a small town with celebs sometimes walking through downtown. Ojai has a law, which prohibited chain businesses and encourages all the small local businesses to become the ruler of the down; all except gasoline stations are the only chain businesses. I was raised by Mexican parents, which neither of them reached their aspirations to become what they want. Really only if you go out of the family to my uncle he was the only one so far to reach his aspirations. My dad always tells me to not be like him and to go out and be what you want to be. In a small town I went to a small school, a great school to with high academics. The middle school I wanted to go to was D.A.T.A in Ventura but my parents wanted me to go to another school with high academics. I ended up choosing the school my parents recommended. I started to think all my friends were here and I would have to make new ones if I went to the other. Throughout middle school friends came and went as I was left with some great friends which only 3 of them came to High School with me and the rest just out there doing there thing. Again for my next journey my parents recommended FTHS which was an unfamiliar school that I never talked about going but still knowing it was a school with some of the smartest kids in Ventura. So I applied there and I got in. That takes me to the athletics that I was excited about all middle school. I was ready to have an official uniform with a number or like in cross-country a random number pinned on you. I did cross country for the first season of sports in high school. I had a great coached there and became fitter throughout the season. Basketball came along which was the sport I was most excited about. A number on my back and games against other schools. It was a great season almost over but not quit yet. I choose a great path so far and where I come from shaped it and made me choose the correct way to go.
