I was born April 25th of 2000 in Ventura, California. When I was in preschool, I was in and out of the hospital, but once I hit kindergarden I thought things would get better but I was so young I didn’t even know what life was! Of course around then my parents decide to get a divorce, so they did. My parents made it so we, my brother and I, stay with them on a very complicated schedule. Anyway, I think I was about 5 years old when they divorced, so I had no clue what was happening. I really didn’t care either. As I got older, it became tough on me. I knew I would have to find something enjoyable to do in my free time to get my mind off things. Somehow that became horseback riding. I’ve always been told I have a special way with the scared/aggressive horses. People would tell me to stay away but the little rebel that I can be had to be near them. I would always get in trouble so I couldn’t do anything about it because I was so young.
I went to a camp over summer and learned the basics of horseback riding, but eventually it got to the point where I didn’t learn anything new, so I tried finding a new ranch to go to. In the mean time I was having a shizzle load of family problems. There was no way I could find a little place to just relax and clear my head. Then of course Middle School rolls around and you’d think everything would get better at this point, right? WRONG.
In Middle School I didn’t fit in. Little Kaitlyn didn’t care, she liked being different, or at least she thought she did. I knew absolutely nobody but I managed to get through. I made some friends about a month into school. Then as you know, 7th grade comes. Family problems finally aren’t as bad. There was a girl who wasn’t very popular but she thought she was and everyone was scared of her. Lets call this girl Burrito. Burrito thought it would be an amazing idea to bully me. Yep, believe it or not, I was bullied. I kept it a secret because I was scared of her. She was like three times the size of me. Luckily by this point I found a new amazing ranch and I made good close friends there. It might sound crazy but I talked to horses. I would tell them my problems and I would feel good because I knew they wouldn’t tell anyone. I was at school and this girl came up to me while I was sketching a horse. She got me good but little Kaitlyn got her better. If it wasn’t for horses I would’ve never stood up to that girl. Horses kept me going, they kept me strong. I might be little but i'm mighty.
