Hello, My name is Gary Meyers. I am 14 and was born on December 2 of 2000 in Ventura California, but I live in a small town of Oak View which is between Ventura and Ojai and is the place that i’ve called home since forever. Like I said, Oakview is small, and for those of you who don't know how small it is, just imagine a town with only two stop lights.

Although that Oakview is very small, a lot of my friends live in Oakview or near the town like in Ojai and Ventura and happily get the chance to hang out with them almost every day. We will always go to the Ojai skate park or just go to the movie Theater or the beach. Other than that, we also share the mutual interest in dirt jumping. My point is, although Oakview is a very small town, me and my friends somehow find something to do.

Sports has been a huge thing in my life ever since I could remember. Sports is sort of a way to relieve not only stress but boredom especially when talking about Baseball or Football. I have been playing baseball for about 7 years now and football for another 5. It was my moms idea to sign me up for a sport and since Oakview had a league called “OVLL” or “Oakview Little League” along with a field,we finally concluded that I would play baseball as my first year of sports. A lot like attending foothill, I wasn't so sure about it until I found pitching. Pitching was something that I was great at which is why I loved doing it so much. A majority of the time at home I would be throwing in the back yard with my brother or dad. By my second season of pitching I threw my first ever no-hitter.

Me pitching for 5 years has lead me to discover a lot of more wild things to throw, like boomerangs, frisbees, and medicine balls (long story). But one thing that actually replaced a baseball for an amount of time was a football. I did exactly as I did with a baseball which was passing it to my brother or dad in the backyard. 2009 was my first ever year of football. Me, thinking about my throwing, I thought that I was going to be a quarterback. But some how I found a position I loved to play which was on the other end of throwing which was receiving. Receiving was a perfect position for me as I am pretty quick and run routes like a god and I was first string too! This position was the main reason that I loved and adored the sport so much and always excited me to go to each game.
