I was born on January 4th in Ventura, California and I couldn't have asked for a better place to live. Its not too notable of a place. It is a coastal city, therefore it has great weather. I have many things tugging at me, trying to influence me, and many have succeeded in doing so. Music among other things are a big part of my life, but that may be one that influences me the most.
Music has always been with me. My father is in a Led Zeppelin tribute band, and there is where I got my rock and roll roots. Not only do i enjoy listening to rock and roll, I enjoy listening to country, r&b, rap, hip hop, even hard rock/metal. Music is my escape and it keeps me sane when i feel like going crazy. When my sister won't be quiet, and when i shut my door and i can still hear her what do i do? I throw my headphones on and drown out all of the nonsense that exists in my outside life. On top of all of that, i even listen to dub step and electronic music. It is quite the odd combination, but it works for me. Actually, there is one is thing that you don't know about me. I love to sing. Weird, right? The big guy who is always quiet in class and plays lots of sports can sing. I'm decent, but my friends say im really good, and they are brutally honest. Listening to all these different, diverse, and storytelling pieces of music has given me an insight on life that most of the people my age have yet to acquire. Different types of music tell different things to the listener, if they are willing to let them speak (play).
Another thing, well, actually my mom, has influenced my a great deal. We come from an Italian descent, and they are very shameless. She has embarrassed me so much and very frequently to the point that i dont even mind anymore. She’ll dance in the middle of the mall if a song that she likes comes on, shes the one who’ll honk at a girl if i note to her that shes pretty, I learned that the hard way. My mom has taught me and will continue to teach me the concept of getting embarrassed, and not hide behind a blank wall of cool indifference just to impress others. She taught me to be myself, not to be just another sheep in the herd, to be my own person, even when my social life demands otherwise.
So in conclusion, life in itself is a great thing. The things that make it great are the good and the bad, the beautiful and ugly things, every person or thing that tries to take me with them to their way of living, and all of the great friends and family who have helped me grow into the young man I am today. Thank you.
