I was born in Santa Paula, California. My parents divorced when I was about one and a half years old. After that, I had started moving around constantly. New houses, new schools, and new families. I have lived in a total of seven houses. I have made many friends throughout the years but it is difficult for me to maintain a steady friendship because of the fact that I'm moving all of the time. I have finally stopped moving now. I am fourteen, I have two stepbrothers and one stepsister. I now have two sets of parents, and I am finally in one place.
I have always been into building and creating things with clay, Legos, and Lincoln Logs. When I noticed how much I love building things, I found that an architect designs many buildings. I looked into all of the requirements and what architects did and I decided that I wanted to do this for a living. At the time, I was doing poorly in school. I was loosing track of assignments and didn’t care for school. I told my friend, who was also aware of my academic problems, about my hope to someday become an architect. He told me that to do that, I would have to start caring more about school. He told me that whatever troubles I faced, I would have to just suck it up and remember what the prize is. I took this to heart and got my grades up and became more stable of a student and even got Honor Roll.
Sadly, I was at a low ranked school and was being taught all of the things that I already knew. My parents, after hearing my complaints about my education, gave me a choice. The choice was to stay in the same school district when I got out of middle school, or switch to a higher ranked high school. I loved the idea at first, but then I realized that if I switched districts, I would lose all of my friends. I had been having the best three years of my life with these people, and now I had to choose between them and my education. I had finally stopped moving, and now my future depended on this choice.
I chose to switch districts. I thought I would be able to keep in touch with my friends through social media. Sadly, I have been forgotten by three of my closest friends. Luckily, I am still in contact with my other three friends. We talk all of the time and meet to hang out every other weekend. I do not regret the decision to move here. I believe that my education here will be very beneficial and worthwhile. My life has been built on friendships, higher goals, and striving to get the best education for my dream job. My life and world has includes so many good and bad memories, so many mistakes and heartbreaks, but most of all, my world has been shaped by creation, sociality, and hope.
