My neighborhood was filled with old or middle aged people ,so they didn’t have kids that I could play with .And my brothers and sister were in high school and middle school , they didn't want to play with me . So I focus on school work, that when i got a passion for math. Onces I got home I would do my h.w. right away.Since I had nothing else to do . After that I would either watch TV or ,play with my dog .And now I plan on majoring in Mathematics.
As I grew up I would see my brother stuggle with college finance, due to him slack during high school and now paying the price.So that encouraged me to work hard and get the best grade I can.And to set goal in my life and to reach as far as I can . THat is why I join Avid to help me have choices and scholarships.AVID did help because last year I went to some colleges and fell in love with UCSB and CAL poly.Which are my dream/ future colleges.
When I was little that only my dad worked we weren't the richest people . But ones my mom started working we could afford more things. Then my oldest brother worked so we could afford cameras and a computer. As each of my sibling grew we lived better and better . Now everyone works except me and we have ;phones,computers, laptops, cameras, tablets,etc. which taught me to work hard for the things you want .You get what you earned.
A challenge in my life has been . not speaking spanish .For some reason I don't know how to speak spanish ,I only understand it .It's been hard having your whole family speaking spanish.when you go to a party and they only speak spanish ,I can only speak a little, it cannot have a full on conversation with them. It's hard because , my teacher think right away that because my parent speak it , i do to , but that's not the case. IN 8 th grade my teacher called me out in front of the class to read a spanish paragraph and I told her I couldn't ,but she didn't believe .She brought the fact that my mom does . She would take no for an answer . Until finally someone volunteer to read instead.From them I have tried really hard to speak spanish ,I still haven't mastered it but i know more than last year.
Those were Just some of the things that has formed me.That have help me make a better future for myself .I'm sure there is more stories that have helped but for right now that what I can remember . At the time I wonder why things happen . But now as the picture gets bigger ,I get that things happen for a reason.
