I live in Ventura CA. I was born May 23rd, 2000. There are some things that have shaped the way I am.
My parents lived in Mexico, but they decided to come to the United States to begin their family. Growing up was tough. My family is somewhat big because I have three older sisters. In total we are a family of six members. We would move house to house until we finally settled in to “the one”. Each house we moved in, we upgraded. I remember the first house we had was so small, we were all crowded. Another downside to moving was changing schools. I would change schools frequently but that did not affect me as much because I was little.
Looking back at how much my family has struggled, I am so glad how much we accomplished. Even though I’d see my parents struggle paycheck after paycheck to pay the bills, they gave me everything I needed. I wouldn’t consider my family “poor” because I had everything I needed. I had a roof under my head, food, water, and their love. We just struggled at the beginning because we were starting from scratch. My parents came with few things. Now we consider Ventura as our home. I wouldn’t like to live anywhere else. The warm weather and the beach by my side is great.
My family has shaped the way I am today. I am so grateful to have them by my side. When we would fall down as a family, we were there for one another. Our relationships would be closer than ever. I look up to my family. They inspire me to do better things in life. They motivate me every second of the day and I am thankful for that. Yeah my sisters can get extremely annoying at times, but c’mon who doesn’t get annoyed of their siblings.
As for my future, I plan to go to college. I may not know what I want to do but I know it will come to me. My mom never went to college because she had to drop out of high school to help out her family. On the other hand my dad did go to college but in Mexico. He became a teacher over there. I always enjoy talking to my dad about school because it amuses me how much he knows about stuff. I want to follow his footsteps because he is one of many of my role models.
My life is certainly not perfect. Well no one’s life is. We live in a world where we try to too hard but we can not control the world we live in. The struggles in my life have made me become a better person because I did not let any worry stop me.
