Now days, everyone has to go to college. In order to get a good job with at least good pay, college is necessary. I want to become a music producer and work at a studio. For some reason when I told my family that they were surprised but agreed. My home is Camarillo. I was born there at the Camarillo hospital and I spent at least 12 years there. After that we realized that we are always spending time in Oxnard so we moved there for 2 years. Making the move was really hard though, because money of course, and we moved into an apartment. With a dad who barely supports you and having to be raised by your mother and grandmother is very hard as well. My grandma died right before my 14th birthday and my grandma helped my mom with rent and helped her cook and clean, so with her being gone was really hard for the both of us. My mom works full time at a clinic in Carpinteria and then she also raises me, takes me to volleyball practice and makes sure there is always food on the table. Especially with having to pay rent for an apartment that is not exactly in a good area, and having to drive all the way to carpenteria because that is the only job she can find with a good pay. You see my mom only went to college for 2 years then she had to drop out to support the family. I am also planning to work during the summer to help as well because I just turned 15. I am currently going to Foothill Technology High School and I like it. My mom got really excited when she found out I got in because she really wants me to go to college and so do I. I am also in a program called AVID where not a lot of schools have, and this program helps students get into college and inspires them to go to college. The life I have lived has been hard but I think it has become so much better. I made it to varsity volleyball freshman year, and I also do track and field. I think that I have made so many friends that support me and it’s nice to have this support.
